Can you believe the first season of MFU premiered 45 years ago? As a first cousin, that makes me feel old - really old! It's nice that the popularity of the series is still strong, and the guys are doing pretty well, too.
Because of requests for a "gen/het" blog site to discuss MFU, Solo and Kuryakin, Vaughn and McCallum, I've put Section II together. I think it's ready to go.
What do I have in mind for Section II?
How about daily topics?
Writers' Wednesdays is an opportunity for self-promotion. If you have a gen/het fiction website not listed in the links, please let me know.
Gen/het fan fiction is in demand and is difficult to find! For writers whose work is located on anthology sites such as fanfiction.net, I would like set up a story database under an "Independent Fiction Directory" link. Writers with on-going series should provide a listing of their stories in reading order. Molly Cat, Rosy, Taz and anyone with gen/het fiction that is not posted on a personal website or is listed on multiple sites, please send us a note. Readers want to find your work!
By the way, kudos go to Periwinkle, who has done a phenomenal job locating MFU fic of all genres (gen/het; slash; cross-overs; alternate universe).
Serendipity Saturdays is open for discussion of subjects such as:
Speaking of screen caps, many thanks to Lisa Williams for her MFU image library - the fourth season is almost complete.
All "cousins" are welcome to participate. If you like slash, that's fine, just remember that some people are uncomfortable with slash content and depictions.
As a final note, I think it's important for me to make a brief personal statement. I am one of the people who choose to consider Napoleon and Illya as heterosexual men. Having grown up in the black and white television era, I watched movies with teams such as Martin and Lewis, Abbott and Costello, Hope and Crosby. Their dialogue was filled with innuendos and their antics, especially with the Hope/Crosby "Road" movies, weren't much different from the dialogue and behavior of Napoleon and Illya.
I do understand why many people consider Napoleon and Illya as bi-sexual or gay. I have friends who are gay, and I love them dearly. I wouldn't take a million dollars to give up any one of them. My preference about Napoleon and Illya is merely my choice, and isn't a matter of prejudice.
With that said, I hope everyone who visits Section II will feel at home and will share their opinions, their creativity and their suggestions for making Section II an entertaining site.

I am really happy to see a gen/het community open up for MFU! Something I've been hoping for for a long time. Like you I see Napoleon and Illya as heterosexual men. I don't have any sort of extreme distaste toward slash or anything; it's just not how I see those two guys. And it's a bit disheartening to have to search through oodles of slash content just to find a few good gen/het stories about them.
Also since you mentioned that self-promotion is fine, I would like to put out my MFU fanfiction site address: http://carabele.com/uncle/uncle_home.htm.
Congratulations, Cat! I love your new blog and I'm looking forward to lots of interesting fun and information for us Man from U.N.C.L.E. fans here.
Thank you, Carabele and Marianne!
I've added links for both your sites. I think Section II is filling a much needed niche, and I have a feeling we will be pretty popular in a fairly short amount of time!
Hugs and happy holidays!
Cat
Thanks for putting up a link to my site, but I noticed there's an extra period at the end of the address which is causing it not to be found.
Address should be: http://carabele.com/uncle/uncle_home.htm
No final period on there. My fault for incorrectly adding that period to my initial comment.
Good work, Cat -- and I agree, it will fill a most-desired need in MfU fandom. -- Paul W.
Carabele's link is repaired, and the site looks great! Can't wait to read the stories!

Thank you for providing a 'safe haven.' As others have commented, I never saw- or see- them as anything other than extraordinary friends with healthy appetites for the opposite sex. Unexpectedly hitting into slash made me grumpy... FM
